2025 was a year of great news for TTEngineering: first and foremost is the automatic production line for boilers and cylindrical tanks for hot water and pressure vessels, equipped with fiber laser welding and cutting technology.
This automatic line can be fed by both blanks and 2 separate cutting lines (coils up to 12 tons), working with thicknesses from 0.4 to 2.5 mm and diameters from 80 to 770 mm.
The maximum length of the pipe can reach up to 1550 mm.
Thanks to the new version of the patented FlexFormer® bending unit, high production speed and perfectly round pipes are guaranteed without the need for an integrated pre-bending process.
In addition to the standard laser welding process, we have integrated a real-time process control system, which allows to monitor every single millimeter of the welded section.
Last but not least, by exploiting the possibility of performing multi-pass welding and thanks to a source with dynamic beam-shaping, we are able to handle a wide variety of materials, including coils that would normally be a source of waste.
To produce tanks with laser-welded butt ends, this line also integrates a pipe-end trimming station, which automatically processes the pipes on a double-headed lathe with NC-controlled chip removal cutters; in addition, a final station is provided for end welding using a “hybrid” laser process.
TTE has chosen to optimize this type of laser process to weld even untrimmed bottoms without waste, thus ensuring consistently excellent results even when welding 1.5 mm thicknesses with gaps up to 1 mm between the edges. This result, in effect, eliminates waste and/or the need for tank repairs with off-line welding.
